A Typical Day

07:30 - 9:00MORNING ARRIVAL

We start the day with some group storytelling and sing-alongs, before giving the children an overview of the day’s activities. We speak to them in English and French throughout the day to kick start their language-learning journey

11:30SNACK TIMES

When it comes to food, we focus on health, balance and freshness. The kids enjoy fruit and water in the morning, and bread and cheese or jam, yogurt and fruit in the afternoon.

11:30LUNCH

is a freshly prepared, healthy and tasty meal delivered by Haut-Lac International Bilingual School every day. We use this moment to help the children develop their independent eating skills, and encourage them to try everything on their plate.

12:30 - 16:30AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

  • Nap time: The children brush their teeth and wind down for a nap after lunch. Gentle music and our team’s presence helps them to relax until they wake up naturally when they are ready.
  • Outdoor exploration: Kids at Les Marroniers get outside at least once a day, if not more. No matter the weather, we go out into the playground, on nature walks or even into the forest to play, observe the seasons and learn about life outdoors. It is the best way for them to expend some energy and socialise as they run around and play together.
  • Trips: Thanks to Haut-Lac International Bilingual School’s buses, which are suitable for transporting young children, we get to go on exciting trips to bigger parks, castles and more beyond the nursery neighbourhood.

  • Music class: The Haut-Lac International Bilingual School music teacher visits us weekly to engage the children in a lively music class. They learn about instruments, the sounds they make and are inspired to play and sing as a group.
  • Baking: We also get creative in the kitchen by baking muffins or biscuits, especially if it is someone’s birthday!
  • Free play: The children also get some free time to develop their interests and games on their own.

16:30 - 18:30PICK-UP

Parents may pick up their child between 16:30 and 18:30. If they wish do so earlier, we ask them to let us know in advance (in case a trip has been planned).

We use pick-up time to discuss the day’s activities with parents, as well as any upcoming trips or events.

PICK-UP
If children are unwell during the day, we monitor them closely and ask parents to come pick them up if necessary. We regularly clean the areas and toys used by the children so as to limit the spread of bugs, and ask parents to please let us know if their child is unwell before the day begins.
