Les Marronniers welcomes children aged 18 months to 4 years into a bilingual French-English nursery in the heart of Vevey. Open from 07:30 to 18:30, we’re part of Haut-Lac International Bilingual School’s 30-year commitment to quality early education.
Your toddler will spend their days switching naturally between English and French with native-speaking educators who use our proven “one person, one language” approach. No formal lessons. No pressure. Just genuine relationships that build bilingual confidence from day one.
Read on to find out more about our a purpose-built learning environment where climbing, creating, gardening and discovering happen in two languages simultaneously.
A toddler’s day at Les Marronniers looks like pure play. Think forest walks, climbing on indoor structures, painting at tables and building block towers with friends.
But each of these moments develops something essential:
And language works the same way. Children naturally absorb vocabulary and grammar through meaningful interactions with English and French-speaking educators at mealtimes, outdoors and during activities.
Les Marronniers occupies a calm, residential location in Vevey, close to local playgrounds and Lake Geneva.
Inside, the children benefit from soft play circuits, playhouses, art & craft areas, reading corners and other calm spaces, a nap room, a dining room and a kitchen for our cooking workshops.
The nursery opens at 07:30 and closes at 18:30.
We are open all year long, with the exception of bank holidays, 3 weeks in summer and 2 weeks in December.
If you would like more information or a tour of the nursery, we would love to hear from you.

Les Marronniers welcomes children from 18 months to 4 years old. After nursery, children typically transition into Haut-Lac’s preschool, which runs from age 3 to 6 on the main St-Légier campus.
Les Marronniers is fully bilingual French-English, with both languages used equally throughout the day.
We follow the “one person, one language” approach: each educator speaks only their native language with the children, so toddlers absorb both naturally through play, meals and routines rather than through formal lessons. It’s a similar approach the Haut-Lac preschool builds on from age 3.
Les Marronniers is at Rue du Nord 3, 1800 Vevey, in a quiet residential street close to Lake Geneva and local playgrounds. It’s an easy daily drop-off for families living in Vevey, La Tour-de-Peilz, Corsier, Corseaux, St-Légier or Montreux, with parking nearby and the train station just a short walk away.
The nursery is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30, all year round. We close on Swiss bank holidays, for three weeks in summer and two weeks in December. The exact dates are published in our holiday calendar.
A typical day blends free play, structured activities and plenty of outdoor time, all in English and French.
Weekly highlights include forest walks in the nearby hills above Vevey and St-Légier, the Corseaux paddling pool in summer, gardening in the Haut-Lac school garden, cooking workshops, music sessions and yoga. Parents receive real-time updates and photos throughout the day via the Seesaw app.
Not at all, children join Les Marronniers at 18 months, so most arrive in nappies. Our educators support toilet learning at each child’s own pace, and work closely with parents to stay consistent between nursery and home.
Fees depend on the number of days your child attends per week, with options from part-time to full-time. Full details are in the 2025-26 nursery fee schedule.
Yes, children at Les Marronniers transition move into Haut-Lac’s preschool from age 3, on the main St-Légier campus. Because the nursery is part of the school, families benefit from familiar faces, a shared bilingual approach and a smoother first day.
Yes. Children at this age pick up new languages through daily routines and play, not lessons, so a different home language is rarely a barrier. Our educators are experienced with international families and support each child individually as they settle in. The same approach continues into our preschool for families who stay with Haut-Lac.
Yes, we welcome families to visit before applying. Call +41 21 555 51 29 or email the nursery to arrange a tour and ask any questions, after which we’ll guide you through the enrolment paperwork and start date.
